The Minister of local government says the town council will suspend its activities in Makuei area.
Ateek Monydhar Ateek says they are waiting for the State Governor to find out solution to the disputed area, Radio Don Bosco reports.
He says both communities asked them to iron out their differences before the Municipal Council comes in.
The government understood the community’s request, the Minister claims.
He says the issue is not out of control and that it may not wait for the border demarcation committee to be sent by the president.
The Minister urges people living in Makuei area to live peacefully.
Acting Town Mayor Arop Mark Mayol and other government officials on Tuesday met with Makuei residents to discuss the issue.
