United Nations, regional and international partners of the South Sudan peace process called for inclusive representation in different institutions and political processes in the country.
UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson, JMEC Chairman Festus Mogae and African Union High-Representative on South Sudan Alpha Oumar Konar√© after their meeting over the weekend called for an end to barriers to UNMISS’ movement.
They urged the Transitional Government of National Unity to cooperate fully and not delay the deployment of the regional protection force for the sake of peace.
The partners noted the importance of justice, reconciliation and accountability for the in South Sudan.
They urged the African Union to move forward with the establishment of the Hybrid Court as put in the agreement.
The partners expressed great concern about the deteriorating humanitarian and protection environment in the country.
