A Catholic priest of Wau diocese has called on the government to take proper care and provide all the necessary things, including salary to the army to protect South Sudanese.

Fr Santino Mawrino Morocommomo, says the lack of proper care to soldiers is forcing them to rob citizens and creates insecurity, Voice of Hope reports.

He argues that the army is supposed to protect the country rather than threatening civilians with their guns.

The catholic priest made the remarks during holy mass on international peace day at St Mary’s Cathedral in Wau.
