The Catholic Diocese of Torit is passing her condolences to counterpart of Arua in Northern Uganda for the dead of Emeritus Bishop Frederick Drandua who passed away on Thursday at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
Monsignor Thomas Oliha, Torit Apostolic Administrator says Bishop Drandua had helped many South Sudanese during the civil war, Radio Emmanuel reports.
He says Torit Diocese is in solidarity with her sister Diocese of Arua.
Monsignor Oliha calls for peace and that the armed youth should lay down their guns.
He deplores the devastation caused by violence in many parts of Torit Diocese.
Monsignor Oliha says the people of Torit and South Sudan need peace now not tomorrow.
