Teachers in Yei say very few learners in primary and secondary schools have started turning up when the schools reopened on Monday for third term.
Yei Day Senior Secondary School head master David Lumori says the whole school received about only 54 students on Tuesday, Radio Easter reports.
He says the turn up of the students is still very poor, but predicts that more will come.
Lumori says some learners have the tendencies of adding extra days on the recommended period of the holidays.
The head teacher urges parents to send the learners to schools because lessons have started normally.
He also advises learners to be regular to their classes because the term is closing at the end of the year.
