The inter-faith based Council for Peace in Western Equatoria urged people of region and South Sudan in general to pray and work for peace rather than violence.
The Council Secretary, Pastor Elinama Jacob Bisi, says they will sensitize communities on the peace agreement the government and the South Sudan National Liberation Movement signed in April this year, Radio Anisa reports.
He says the best way of addressing issues in the community is through dialogue not violence.
Pastor Jacob appeals to citizens to welcome the youth who are in the bushes and not to utter bad words that can discourage them from doing the right thing.
Pastor Yepetha Nathana, Deputy Secretary of the Council, advises the public to live in peace and avoid hatred and discrimination.
The Council plans to organize a forum for about 50 South Sudan National Liberation Army officers on Wednesday to sort out some differences among themselves.
The Council for peace appreciates the government of Gbudwe State for entrusting to it the mandate of mediation.
The Council members are also grateful to donors for supporting their program.
