Young people from all tribes of South Sudan in Yei identified tribalism as the root cause of suffering in the area and the nation at large.
The youth made the identification in a consultative workshop in Yei Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan or ECSSS organized over the weekend, Radio Easter reported.
The young people noted that social media fuelled tribalism, says Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba of Yei ECSSS Diocese.
He says youth also expressed that their elders wrongly advise them to fuel conflict in the name of tribalism that increases revenge killings and insecurity.
The Bishop says the young people agreed to form an umbrella group to work for peace in Yei and South Sudan.
They strongly rejected war, revenge killings and use of hate language, he adds.
On Monday, the young people voiced their readiness to work for peace in South Sudan.
