Telecommunication mobile operators have to urgently address the breakdown of the network coverage in Yei, appeals Executive Director for Centre for Democracy and Development.

Dara Felix, also appeals to the Ministry of Telecommunication and Postal Services to work closely with the companies to restore the service in Yei, Radio Easter reports.

He suggests that the mobile operators have to enlighten the people of Yei about the ’cause of the breakdown’.

The appeal came after Vivacell stopped services, forcing people to cut communication with relatives and friends in other parts of South Sudan and abroad.

Zain, MTN and Gemtel are also off-service.

Dara says the breakdown in communication in the state has deprived citizens from accessing information about the situation of the country and the peace process.

Last week, customers in Yei also voiced their similar concerns to the companies to reopen.

Radio Easter could not find any official of the companies when approached for comment.
