Health officials impart balance diet skills to midwifes in Nuba Mountains

Health officials are giving weekly workshops to midwives in Lugy area of Umdoeren County, Nuba Mountains to effectively advise pregnant mothers to use food correctly.

 

Intisar Samahan, workshop facilitator, told the midwives that Nuba Mountains region is reach with different types of food, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

 

She said some food crops are rich in proteins like beans, groundnuts, sesame, maize and greens are also important.

 

Samahan added that there are many local food items in the market better than industrial produced.

 

The facilitator advised people to keep chicken for food not to sell them in order to buy other types of rations that might have little use to the body.

 

She encouraged the communities to use mosquito nets in proper way to prevent malaria.
