Citizens of Naandi Payam in Ezo County on Tuesday assembled at the royal ancestors’ tombs requesting their intercession for lasting peace in South Sudan.
Gordon Angelo Mboribie, Naandi Catholic Parish Information Officer, reported that hundreds of citizens cleaned around the tomb of one of the Azande Kings, Paul Gbatanyaki Zungumbia, Radio Anisa reported.
King Gbatanyaki was known for being brave and care for his people to live in unity and peace.
He was born in 1908 and died in 1997
The citizens and Christians also cleaned around the grave of Monsignor, Jerome Bidai the second Azande son who was ordained a Catholic priest by the Missionaries in 1948.
Monsignor Bidai was born in 1919 and died in 1999.
The Monsignor during his priesthood consistently preached to Christians to believe in God and denounce malpractices and witchcrafts.
Naandi Payam is one of the areas in Ezo County that has been experiencing insecurity for the past months, but now Gbudwe State government has brought peace to the area.
The community has arranged to conduct a mass at the two tombs of the former prominent leaders to intercede for peace in the country.
