Koboko is ready to temporarily host displaced people from Yei, says State Political Affairs Advisor who headed South Sudan delegation to celebrate World Youth Day in Uganda on August 12.

Jackson Abugo Gama said while in Uganda they shared about the situation of the South Sudanese and strengthening ‘political capacities’ back home, Radio Easter reports.

He says in Koboko said they met Ugandan authorities in Koboko and linked them with Chamber of Commerce to facilitate coming of food to Yei.

The delegation after meeting several officials in Koboko, also discussed possibilities of bringing food in Yei, Abugo adds.

He says state authorities are working hard to ‘flood the markets with food’ from Uganda.

Ugandan authorities in Koboko sent to them condolence messages after they fell into the ambush on August 14 leaving three people dead and five others injured, says Abugo.

The Advisor quoted Koboko officials Elizabeth Ayume and Nginya Hassan as saying Uganda is concerned of what happened to them.

Abugo, one of the injured officials thanked them for their continued support.
