South Sudan Chamber of Commerce says it allocated more than six million US Dollars for importing food and medicines to the country.

Secretary-General of the Chamber Simon Akeui told Journalists on Thursday that the amount was allocated to 25 companies last month, Radio Bakhita reported.

He said some companies are complying, while others are still in the process of transferring the money with correspondent suppliers.

Akei warned that legal steps will be taken against the companies that will not comply.

The Secretary-General urges the government to deploy security forces at the main roads to secure the passage of the goods and services to the country.

Akeui calls on the Central Bank to open accounts in trading countries like Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Egypt and Dubai to ease transfer.
