South Sudan will have one national army by May next year, the President of the Republic told the Transitional Legislative Assembly on Monday.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit said he instructed the Chief of General Staff to start the process with his counterpart in the Opposition, Radio Bakhita reports.
He said there will be disarmament on the illegal weapons’, noting that laws and regulations will be enforced to unregistered firearms in the hands of organized forces and civilians.
