The minister of information in Tonj says closure of telephone networks in the state is not from the government, but due to economic crisis biting the whole country.

Madit Malek Akuien refutes rumours that the government closed mobile networks, Radio Don Bosco reports.

Some of the network stations are looted by unknown gunmen, the minister adds.

He pledges that the government will try its best to coordinate with the companies to keep on at least one network for communication.

Malek encourages people to tolerate the situation and hopes that things will change.

The only remaining Vivacell network was off for two days now.
