South Sudan Civil Society Alliance rejects government’s decision to accept intervention of foreign forces in the country.

Alliance Chairperson, Akuoch Ajang Nyanhom, says bringing foreign troops to South Sudan is a gross violation of the Agreement by IGAD, AU and UN, Radio Bakhita reports.

He calls on the government to conduct a public rally to clarify its position to the citizens.

The Alliance urges Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission Chairperson Festus Mogae to be neutral in the implementation of Peace Agreement.

It calls on the UN Security Council to consult with the people of South Sudan and their government on the renewal of the mandate of UNMISS in the country.

Last month, South Sudan Civil Society Alliance joined the government in a peaceful protest, rejecting intervention of regional forces in the country.
