Lainya County Commissioner is appealing to humanitarian partners to urgently intervene by giving food and non-food assistance to the residents.
Augustino Kiri Gwolo says the civilians are returning but their houses have been destroyed and properties looted, Radio Easter reports.
He says the humanitarian situation of the residents is terrible and humanitarian agencies need to immediately hurry to aid the dire situation.
Residents say their belongings were looted and many houses destroyed.
They complain that children and the elderly are dying of hunger and many are sick after spending a long time in the bush.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Kiri adds that more than 3, 200 residents fled to Logwili Boma are also suffering and need urgent help.
