Armed youth on Monday released six community members who were detained for ten days in Ezo County of Gbudwe State.
One of the victims, Bernadetta Yabira, Ezo County Deputy Chairlady, says they were detained based on the claim that the government in Yambio arrested a member of the armed young people, Radio Anisa reports.
She adds that they went to the armed group to negotiate ways of addressing their grievances.
The Deputy Chairlady says the group told them that they wanted to come home after the governor declared amnesty, but regretted the arrest of some of their members.
She testifies that they were fairly treated while in detention.
Bernadetta calls on both the government and the armed group to find amicable solution to the conflict in Ezo County.
Meanwhile, Ezo Commissioner, Luciano Gumbakpite Bakinde, says the armed group blocked most of the roads in the county.
