Justice and Peace Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio is training its peace mobilizers on human rights monitoring in the Gbudwe State.

Commission Program Manager Mbiko Henry says the training aims to contribute to peace and reconciliation in Western Equatoria region, Radio Anisa reports.

He says the diocese is helping in trauma healing and reconciliation since the war destroyed the three states of Western Equatoria.

Human right is the entitlement inherited by the virtue of birth and it must be respected not violated, stresses Henry.

The Manager says they are working in collaboration with the department of Human Rights in UNIMISS to ensure liberty, equality and the right of citizens are respected.

He pledges that the Diocese will extend the same program to other counties and states in Western Equatoria if the situation normalizes.
