Yei River State government says it plans to visit fleeing citizens who are stranded along the border with Uganda.

For about two weeks, citizens have been fleeing Yei, fearing that fighting could break out after four civilians were killed in the town and rumours of attack of the town, Radio Easter reports.

The state government has been receiving reports about the suffering of the citizens without settlement and humanitarian assistance, says Stephen Lodu Onesimo spokesperson.

He adds that the state will advocate for the return of the citizens to do normal activities at home.

The Minister has not clarified when the government will meet them, but says the citizens will be advised to voluntarily return home.

The Government spokesperson was speaking to Radio Easter on Thursday.
