Juba has witnessed an increase in the number of suspected cholera cases, Ministry of Health said in a statement on Monday.
‘Over the last two days, there were new suspect cases with 30 admitted in Juba Teaching Hospital and one death on July 16, it added.
The ministry said all suspected cases were investigated and 13 tested positive pending confirmation.
The ministry advised that patients who have dehydration, vomiting, and watery diarrhoea should report to the nearest health facility or Juba Teaching Hospital.
It also said people should use proper hand sanitation and chlorinated water to avoid spread of the disease.
The statement said suspected cases should also be reported to the Ministry of Health hotline by dialling 1144.
‘The Ministry of Health reassures the public that the reported cases are under intensive case management and investigation at the Juba Teaching Hospital and there should be no anxiety in the community.’
