Two people died of alleged food poison while two women and two children are undergoing medical attention at Torit State Hospital.
Radio Emmanuel reports that two families of four mothers and two children in Ifwonyok area of Torit ate halfway cooked cassava leaves, locally known as ‘Pondu’.
Abwoch James Sam, Torit State Hospital Administrator attributes the incident to the current hunger situation in the state.
He says the incident happened over the weekend and that the admitted people are responding well.
Twenty similar cases within the months of June and July this year have so far been reported.
