Search for Common Ground in partnership with the Ministry of Information is conducting two-day training on conflict sensitive reporting for the journalists in Yei River State.
Search for Common Ground Coordinator, Daniel Lasuba, says the media is an outreach for the people to know about what is happening in the country, Radio Easter reports.
Reporting conflicts is so sensitive that it needs serious intervention through training of journalists to save them from falling into serious troubles, he says.
Meanwhile, Stephen Lodu Onesimo, the State Information Minister says journalists are free to operate in Yei as long as they follow their professional ethics.
He appreciates the role of the independent media in disseminating the information.
Minister Lodu encourages journalists not to give up in their profession.
The two-day training which drew together journalists from Yei River State is expected to end on Saturday.
