United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan on Thursday visited Wau to assess the humanitarian situation in the state after the clashes.
Eugene Owusu told the media after meeting the Acting State Governor Angelina Anthony Ubur that he was accompanied by UN heads of agencies, NGOs and donors to assess the level of the situation to scale up emergency needs.
He said there are thousands of people who have been displaced.
Angelina Anthony Ubur, the State Acting Governor welcomed the visit and assured the agencies of free movement to the affected areas in the town.
Raga was last week attacked by the so called unknown gunmen, followed by Wau allegedly by forces led by Ali Tamim Fartak.
