The Deputy Information Commissioner has resigned from his position in the Information Commission.
Moses Wol Deng Atak in his resignation letter dated June 24, 2016, addressed to President Salva Kiir to be effective from July 07, stated that the resignation is prompted by government’s lack of political will and institutional support for the independence of the media body.
He says he will continue to serve the nation in another capacity outside government office.
Wol wishes President Kiir and the peace partners, success in reuniting the South Sudanese people after the bloody divisive conflict.
The Deputy Information Commissioner says the Commission still lacks office premises, but has already drafted various concept notes.
