The Government Spokesperson has indicated their intention to violate the peace deal provision for review of Non-Governmental Organizations, NGO Act as the International Community presses on.
Michael Makuei Lueth says the European Union and Troika have no right to demand for amendment of the NGO Act in South Sudan, Radio Bakhita reports.
Political NGOs are free to leave the country, he declares.
Earlier on, Paulino Wanawilla Unango, the Minister of Justice indicated that as the review of NGO Act is a requirement in the peace agreement, the Transitional Government of National Unity shall decide as to when the amendment can take place.
He like Spokesperson Makuei maintains that regulating and monitoring NGOs is necessary.
Stefano De Leo, the head of the delegation of the European Union and Troika says the review of NGO Act is compulsory as long as the peace agreement holds.
He calls for quick review of the NGO Act for compliance with international standards.
The government still insists that any NGO which is not registered under the current NGO law will be deregistered.
