Majority of citizens in Juba have welcomed cabinet’s suspension of South Sudan fifth anniversary of independence due to economic crisis.
Last Friday, the Council of Ministers resolved to suspend the celebration of independence due to lack of funds, Radio Bakhita reports.
The citizens say the country is in a critical economic hardship and that the remaining money should be used to restore the economy.
However, Government Spokesperson, Michael Makuei Lueth says President Salva Kiir Mayardit will issue a press statement to address the nation on the ninth of July.
