Imotong State women fight for gender equality

Stand solid to gain equal representation at all levels, Imotong State women say in an advocacy forum in Torit.
 
Lachimi Rose Tukai, the chairlady for women association in Imotong State urges women to stand firm in supporting one another, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
She adds that through unity, women can gain strength and become competent like men in various communities.
 
Jacob Atari, the Minister of Education in Imotong State criticises the discrimination against women.
 
He says both men and women ought to treat each other equally.
 
All have the rights to be represented in all fields, Minister Atari says.
 
The advocacy forum to pledge for equality was organized by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, UNMISS.
 
Participants have asked UNMISS to extend the advocacy forum to other women at grass root levels.
