The cabinet of the Transitional Government of National Unity has tasked ministries to develop and present proposals on peace implementation programmes next week.
Spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth says the work plans on peace implementation will be scrutinized by the government clusters stipulated in the agreement.
He also announces that the cabinet has called off independence celebration due to economic crisis.
Spokesperson Makuei says the cabinet has directed former ministers occupying government houses to leave them for the new ones to take over.
He says the move helps minimise government expenditure on renting hotels for the new ministers.
Meanwhile, Festus Mogae, the Chairman of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, JMEC has called on the Transitional Government to submit its revised peace implementation matrix for consideration as early as possible.
The JMEC Chairman notes with regrets that the Transitional Government of National Unity which is two months old in power has not made a substantial progress apart from setting the training of the Joint Integrated Police.
