Traders and government authorities in Rumbek on Thursday discussed challenges facing business community in the state.

The one-day conference was organised by Viable Support to Transition and Stability or VISTAS sponsored by USAID, Radio Good News reports.

Traders pointed out that the daily increase of prices in Rumbek market is due to the high renting and inflation of dollars in the country.

Finance Minister Daniel Gumwell Nhom-Abur complained that some traders do not indicate prices of goods when transported to Rumbek.

When the traders reach to Rumbek, they begin to sell items at high prices, he said.

The Minister urged traders to indicate buying costs and tax charged while transporting their goods in order to determine the right prices in the market.

MP Isaac Makur Buoc Apac urged the traders and the government to cooperate and work together for the good of the people in the state.
