Lightning strike due to heavy rains have burned a number of houses of two families in Tura area of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains at about 4:00 AM of Wednesday.
A woman, Kaka Hussein Kodi, said she ran out without clothes to rescue herself and the child who slept with her.
She said all things in the house were reduced to ashes, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
Kaka added that she had to ask neighbours to help her with some clothes to wear.
Another strike also burned the house of Jaily Anur Kuku in the same village at the same time.
She said in her house, many things got burned, but the neighbours struggled to rescue some few, but thanked God because nobody was hurt.
Double lightning strike in a single day raised fears among citizens.
