Gbudwe State Wildlife Department has arrested ten poachers in Tombura County.

Acting State Wildlife Director, Colonel Joseph Matthew Waure, confirms that the men, were caught with meat of different kinds of animals, Radio Anisa reports.

He explains that out of ten men arrested seven of them were having rifles, three with machine guns and four with local rifles know as ‘fabrication’.

Colonel Matthew quoted South Sudan Wildlife Act 2011 as saying ‘any person found poaching would be imprisoned for two or seven years depending on the type of animals killed’.

He appeals to the community to protect the natural resources and the environment.
