South Sudan Council of Churches is holding a National Thanksgiving Day of prayer on Tuesday at Freedom Hall in Juba under the theme: ‘A reconciled family of South Sudan’, Secretary-General announced on Monday.
Fr James Oyet Latansio said the Council invited President Salva Kiir Mayardit, First vice Riek Machar Teny and vice James Wani Igga.
He explains that presidential advisors, national ministers and their deputies, all members of the national assembly, chairperson of specialized committees and all civil servants are also invited.
Fr Oyet said the Council advised all Churches in Juba and states to hold similar prayers on the same day.
South Sudan Council of Churches last month organized similar prayers, but the presidency did not attend.
