Kajo-Keji County Commissioner in Yei River State urges Nyepo displaced persons or IDPs to return home and resume their normal duties.
Julius Lokonga says calm has returned to the area and forces are in place to protect the civil population and property, Radio Easter reports.
He says the IDPs should return home to avoid some people from taking advantage of the current political situation to steal their belongings.
Commissioner Lokonga appeals to humanitarian agencies and nongovernmental organizations to urgently provide aid to the IDPs.
The IDPs lack food, medicine, clean water and shelter.
He also urges them to facilitate the transportation of the displaced people who are very tired after footing a long distance.
More than eight thousand residents of Nyepo Payam were displaced following clashes between SPLA forces and an armed group about weeks ago.
