One of the fourteen South Sudanese athletes who will participate in Africa Athletics championship in South Africa this month vows to break record.
Santino Kenyi Waryang who will run for 15 hundred metres says he is confident to obtain the Olympic qualification to represent South Sudan in Rio de Jenaro in August this year, Radio Bakhita reports.
The runners will be accompanied by four South Sudanese sport officials including the team leader, doctor and coaches.
Jim Long John, the Secretary-General of Athletic Federation says the runners were recruited within the country and abroad.
He says the competitors have met all requirements including their health status to compete internationally.
The team is expected to leave the country next week to participate in the 22 to 28 tournaments.
