Islamic Council Secretary-General in Wau calls for addition of Islamic subject to syllabii being taught in South Sudan.
Bashir Dor Usho says Muslim children in some parts of the country lack Islamic education due to shortage of books following the closure of Islamic preschools or Khalwa, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
He says it is very hard to discipline children due to lack of Islamic religious education that gives values to their lives.
Bashir says the Islamic Council will meet concerned authorities to address the issue for children to be taught at all levels.
Youth Secretary of Islamic Council, Hassan John, says all the activities of young people have stopped due to disagreement among leaders.
He points out that young people do not study the Holy Koran and noble prophetic sayings.
When South Sudan separated from Sudan in 2011, it excluded Islamic religious education from the syllabus.
