Agriculture Knowledge and Improved Livelihood Centre re-opens in Isoke

Agriculture Knowledge and Improved Livelihood or AKIL Centre of Caritas Torit has been re-opened after dormancy for the last one year.
 
Vicar-General of the Catholic Diocese of Torit, Fr Arkangelo Lokoro says the closure of the centre was due to unclear body managing the project for better service delivery, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Managing Director of Caritas Torit, William Okot de Toby says the aim of the project is to provide knowledge and improve the livelihood of Isoke community through agriculture.
 
He adds that the project will embark on nutrition, training of farmers and education on water, hygiene and sanitation.
 
The name ‘AKIL’, meaning ‘FOOD’ Centre project targets Isoke communities to benefit from improved agricultural skills to enable them expand their production.
