Thirty church leaders from different denominations in Lainya Payam of Yei River State were trained on ways of addressing challenges facing persons with disabilities.

The one-day training was organized by the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan Education and Training office of Yei Diocese, Radio Easter reports.

Church leaders have been equipped with skills to ensure that persons with disabilities are equally treated in the society, says Simon Lomude, Senior Supervisor of Community-based Rehabilitation Project in Yei, Lainya and Morobo.

He says the training helps the leaders to speak against the misconceptions depriving persons with disabilities of their rights.

Lomude says the next training will be in Kenyi Payam for community-based organizations, youth and women groups.
