The Bishop of Yei Catholic Diocese calls for the suspension of the football tournament in memory of Sister Veronika Rackova, who died in Kenya last month.
The Yei Football Association and the State Ministry of Sports recently said a tournament was underway in the middle of June, Radio Easter reports.
The tournament has to wait because the Church is still mourning the late Sister, Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe told the congregation on Sunday.
He says the Church and the sports actors should coordinate the organization of the competition in the future.
Bishop Lodu says the tournament needs to take place when the grave is completed and investigations are done.
He thanks the organizers for their love to the late Sister.
Sister Veronika Rackova was shot by suspected SPLA soldiers last month and died of her wounds five days later in Nairobi, Kenya.
