Consumers at the old market (Suk Gedim) of Torit town are now finding it hard to access some essential commodities to buy.
Over the weekend, Radio Emmanuel Reporter, Lillian Ochoo, witnessed main stores of goods including wheat flour and grains are empty.
Imotong State Chamber of Commerce chairperson, Lily Hidita, confirmed that the market went out of some basic commodities.
She attributed the situation to high exchange rate of Dollars against Pounds.
Hidita stated that few traders have rescued the situation by bringing some few sacks of grains on Monday.
The chairperson appealed to the government to help traders get the letter of credit or exchange Pounds with the Dollars to enable them brings goods to the state.
She calls on both traders and consumers to understand the situation and cooperate for a peaceful coexistence.
