The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS concluded a two-day workshop on child protection in armed conflicts.

Child Protection Officer Ras Mos said the workshop was to sensitize civil society organisations and government officials including law enforcement agents on the rights of children, Radio Don Bosco reports.

Deputy Mayor of Tonj Arop Mark encourages UNMISS to conduct more workshops on the same area.

A participant, James Mabior Meel, said he learned that recruitment and abduction of children are against child rights.

Another participant, Maria Agok Mapal, promised to put into practice the knowledge she got especially on early marriage.

Forty participants turned up for the workshop.
