Education and Training Department of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan, Yei Diocese enlightened the community of Logo on epilepsy which causes disability.
The awareness aims at spreading information on increasing cases of disability and ways of preventing them, says Juma James, ECSSS Facilitator, Radio Easter reports.
He points out that increase in disability result from paying less attention to early health solutions and personal negligence.
More awareness will reduce negative attitudes against persons with disabilities, says, Juma Denis, Child Protection Officer in Yei Municipality.
Onesimo Lubari, one of the community beneficiaries says he learned that all persons with disabilities deserve the right to education, proper feeding and equal treatment at home.
He calls on the ECSSS to support persons with disability in education through constructing a school.
The officials spoke at the sidelines of the awareness-raising in Logo on Monday.
The awareness-raising brought together elders, youth, church leaders, teachers, persons with disabilities and school management committee members.
