Pope on Sunday told Deacons from across the globe that they are called to serve, not to be self-serving.
Pope Francis said the deacons must be generous with their lives and time, Vatican Radio reported.
The Pope was preaching in St Peter’s Basilica for the conclusion of the Jubilee for Deacons.
He said one who serves cannot save his free time and has to give up the idea of being master of his day.
Deacons and their families from all around the world were invited to make a pilgrimage to Rome from May 27 to 29 to participate in the Extraordinary Jubilee year of Mercy.
