Thieves break seven shops in Wau market

Suspected thieves have broken into seven shops at the main market of Jou on Wednesday night in Wau.
 
Muzamil Osman Mohammad owns a store for building materials in Wau. He says, the thieves went away with padlocks, electric extensions among others, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
He says the amount of the stolen material reaches 35 thousand South Sudanese Pounds and continues theft has disappointed him to go on with the business in Wau.
 
Another trader, Abdel Hamid Mohammed, says the thieves took his ten sacks of cement amounting to more than six thousand Pounds.
 
Wol Charles of Chamber of Commerce calls for a special security guards in the market rather than leaving the market security for the night patrol.
 
Wau town Mayor Akol Akol Ajith assures that the number of security forces in the market is few and cannot cover the whole town.
 
Traders say despites payment of 40 Pounds for protection of their commodities, shops continue to be broken into, from time to time.
 
Many shops in the residential areas and markets were stolen within this month.
