The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio the Health Department is sponsoring one hundred and fifty orphans this year.
Leone Modesto confirms that the orphans who lost their parents due to HIV and AIDS will continue with their studies with the help from the Diocese, Radio Anisa reports.
The orphans are studying in different schools in Yambio, he adds.
He says the Diocese conducted workshops with the caretakers of the orphans on how they should treat them and their own children without discriminations.
Monthly incentives will be given to the registered vulnerable children to cater for their education and their welfare, says Modesto.
Also there are about 500 separate vulnerable children who are sponsored from Star Support Group under the Christian Brothers Institution under the diocese.
For many years, the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio is catering for orphans who lost their parents from HIV and AIDS.
