Avoid ‘unnecessary reactions’, Bishop tells security agents

Security personnel should not let wrong elements provoke the citizens into unnecessary reactions; the bishop of Yei Catholic Bishop warns.

Radio Easter quoted Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe on Saturday during a requiem mass for the soul of Sr Veronica Rackova who died on Friday in Kenya.

He says commanders should immediately punish soldiers who abuse their roles in protecting lives and property of citizens.

Bishop Lodu says failing to get rid of wrong elements in the security would lead to failure in stability.

He expresses sadness that Yei is become violence in a time peace has been signed.

Earlier this week, the government said it arrested three suspected SPLA soldiers behind the shooting.
