Rumbek committee discovers various ways of tax collection

Western Lakes State Assembly ad hoc committee presented a report of the assessment it carried out in Rumbek market and found out that ways of collecting money varies.
 
The committee studied rising prices and availability of commodities, Radio Good News reports.
 
Madhieu Makuac Adhil, Chairman of the committee says government agencies used wrong form 15 for collecting money, resulting to high prices in the market, he says.
 
The committee found out that the Town Clerk failed to control and ban illegal practices of selling animals outside the auction fence, stresses the Chairman.
 
High rate of renting shops for 3,000 South Sudanese Pounds contributed to the increase of prices of goods, he adds.
 
The ad hoc committee recommends establishment of state revenue authority and supervision of fuel station in order to avoid unnecessary collections in the market.
 
All current authorities involved in the market crisis should be removed, it resolves.
 
Western Lakes state August House gave legislators four days to deliberate on the report until Monday.
