Release detainees in Kajo-Keji who were alleged to be opposition say they feel scared of the government and opposition forces who are still in the bushes of the county.
One of the release detainees told CRN that he was in Wudu market shopping for his wife who was almost delivering, when the government soldiers arrested and took him to the custody.
‘We took four days without testing water’.
He says they are not opposition members, but the soldiers are torturing innocent people.
The released detainee cautions government to have mixed tribe of soldiers working at the custody for easy understanding.
Another one says the soldiers arrested him when he was digging.
He says the soldiers burnt his back at the custody.
Another victim who says he was arrested while sleeping notes that a hot metal was inserted into his private part when he was at the detention.
In a separate interview, the commissioner of Kajo-Keji says the freed civilians were in good condition.
He said the release detainees were arrested for crimes they committed.
Derick Derickson, County Press Secretary says the civilians’ arrest was based on allegation that they were rebels.
The arrested people were release last week after officials in Yei met the County Commissioner.
CRN could not access concerned authorities of the prison.
