Young Women Christians Association trains councilors on trauma healing in Yambio of Gbudwe State.
Mary Fatia, facilitator, says the training was to empower councilors to unite people and advise them to have a sustainable life in the community, Radio Anisa reports.
She says there is a great need to train councilors who will help in trauma healing as South Sudan is undergoing many hardships.
Dorothy Zindo, a participants’ representative, says they gained more knowledge on how to help with counseling services.
The four-day training on trauma healing, which drew participants from greater Central and Western Equatoria regions ended on Thursday.
Young Women Christian Association is expected to extend the same program to other parts of South Sudan.
