Thirty-six priests of Wau Catholic Diocese are undergoing a week of formation on liturgy: ‘Source and culmination’ in the life of the Church.

Vicar General Fr Germano Bernardo Bako says the diocese has planned to put guideline that unifies the formation of the liturgy, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

Comboni Missionary Fr Guido Oliana, who facilitates the studies, defines the liturgy as the presence of the mystery of Christ through the holy readings of the liturgical celebration.

Fr Oliana observes that priests need to understand the real meaning of the liturgy to enable them lead the Eucharistic celebration spiritually.

He discloses that the training would discuss the importance of Sacraments of Reconciliation and Marriage in addition to Anointing of the sick.

The priests are drawn from twenty parishes of Wau Catholic Diocese.

The program is expected to end on Friday.
