Lakes States Relief and Rehabilitation Commission or RRC has cautioned businessmen to stop buying and selling relief items in markets.

In a circular seen by Radio Good News on this Friday, Relief and Rehabilitation Commission wrote that humanitarian partners are concerned with the sale of food and non-food items meant for assisting the needy.

The Commission says food for asset, food for education, children’s nutrition food and medicines from UNHCR and UNICEF have flooded the markets in the area.

Non-food items such as cooking materials, mosquito nets and plastic sheeting from the same UN agencies have also been sold in market.

The Relief Commission appeals to the Traders Union in the state to cooperate in restricting the business.

It also calls on businessmen to respect the instruction on humanitarian items labelled ‘Not for Sale’.
